Our Products

We are now Certified Organic by Natures International (www.naturesinternational.com), effective May 15, 2015, for crops (Producer status) and Dec 18, 2017, for livestock (Livestock status).
For the 2018 production year, all hay and other crops are Certified Organic, and most of the beef calves are Certified Organic.
We are separately also certified Animal Welfare Approved and Certified 100% Grass-fed by AGreenerWorld.org, effective July 12, 2018.
As far as we know, we are the only source of beef cattle with both certifications in the Great State of Texas.
Please see below for more information on hay and beef cattle for the 2018 production year.

Grass-fed Beef cattle (Certified Organic and Certified 100% Grassfed as well as Animal Welfare Approved).
We have always raised our cattle on open pasture and treated them gently. When we learned about the Animal Welfare Approved criteria, we applied for that certification and was approved as of July 12, 2018.
Our herd was expanded last fall from 7 to 21 momma cows, mostly Brangus (a cross of the famous Angus line with the heat-resistant Brahmin line). We now have 18 grass-fed calves born December, 2017, through May, 2018. Grass-fed cattle are usually harvested at about 18 months of age, when the muscle has had time to develop maximum flavor. Our plan is to sell fractions of animals (such as 1/4, 1/2, or an entire calf). Pricing will be determined closer to the time when they can be harvested. The way that the Animal Welfare Approved system works is that you decide how much of an animal you wish to purchase. We then deliver the animal to an approved processing plant that you are comfortable with. We ask that you arrange directly with the processing plant to cut your part of the meat the way you prefer since there are many ways to process cattle. That way you get the cuts you prefer. After processing, the cuts are usually stored for several weeks to mature, and are then frozen. You can pick them up or we can arrange delivery. If you live outside the Great State of Texas, we will recommend a processing plant that is federally inspected. Otherwise, you may wish to use a state-inspected plant that is more convenient to you. Please contact us if you have any questions or wish to reserve a part of a calf.

Pecans (Certified Organic). Mixed native and improved from the famous Central Texas pecan region. Delicious flavor and healthy too! No pesticides, fungicides, synthetic fertilizers, or other forbidden chemicals applied. Available in season for $10/lb shelled or $6/lb in-shell.

Eggs (duck): Not available at this time. Predators have managed to penetrate the mechanical and electrical fences protecting the flock during the January part of winter, and are suspending attempts to maintain a flock until we can overcome this problem.
